tiger small cotton
Kenana knitters is a grass roots organisation located near Njoro (the rift valley area of kenya) founded by Patricia Nightingale, a kenyan woman who wanted to assist local women with a market for their homespun wool. Over time with clever designs Patricia & the knitters transformed the yarn into unique creations. Kenana knitters provides a safe family friendly working environment allowing women to work & take charge of their lives with a decent income using their skills & creativity. Today the cooperative has nearly 600 knitters & 200 spinners creating these wonderful critters.
Hand crafted by the kenana knitters of kenya using organic cotton coloured with natural dyes. Every critter is unique with it's own personality. Each one comes with a colourful scarf & a card telling the kenana knitter story signed by the knitter.
