Beautiful gift bags handmade in nepal from lokta plant fibres which is sustainable and richly textured. Natural vegetable inks and strong natural rope handle. Made in small village cooperatives where the craftswomen are paid a fair wage. Handmade using local raw materials, simple technology and local skills. The paper is made from the bark of the daphne plant known locally as lokta that grows in abundance at altitudes above 2000 metres. The bark removable doesn't harm the plant as it promotes new growth making it a sustainable process.
